I first got into the Kinks when I was working at WCUE FM in Akron in the early 70s.  The program director, John Griffin, loved the Kinks and told me I would too, because they do rock and roll theatre!  He played me "Preservation," the Kink's latest show which he had seen live.  So as the records played, he gave me the blow by blow of the theatrics. He was right -- I loved Preservation and everything else they recorded.  I saw them for the first time live at the Akron Civic Theatre in 1975 performing another piece of rock and roll theatre, "Soap Opera."

Long Live
the Kinks!
You are listening to a bootleg recording (distributed by an Italian recording company) of the Kinks performing at Blossom Music Center in 1985.  I was in the audience that night.
